Job description

SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) is a full-service consulting engineering firm based in downtown Manhattan providing services in civil, structural, transportation engineering, bridge & facility inspection, construction management & inspection and lighting design. We are engaged in local community improvement projects to large, high-profile, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects with a strong reputation of delivering a wide range of projects for our clients in the public sector.
SIE is currently seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for the Poughkeepsie area to lead bridge inspection projects for long span, roadway, and rail bridge inspection projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Leads project, inspection teams and coordinates teams and equipment
  • Prepare in-office support for field inspections, such as development of inspection documentation forms prior to field work
  • Perform field inspection duties and subsequent inspection reports in compliance with Client Requirements
  • Client field liaison for field activities
  • Enforce safe field operations
  • Provides technical guidance to other staff members
  • Travel to required project location(s)
Qualification & Skills:
  • Active New York and New Jersey PE License required
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering
  • At least 3 years of recent bridge experience in inspection as a Team Leader
  • Current FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Training (2 Week Bridge Safety Training) and/or Refresher Course
  • OSHA 30
  • Physically capable of performing tasks associated with the position. Must be comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and various aerial lifts and access equipment
  • Familiarity with NYSDOT, TBTA, PANYNJ, NYCT, MNR, LIRR, and other NY and NJ agencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microstation/AutoCAD skills
  • Driver's License

Expected salary range is $93,600 - $156,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual's qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
