Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Specialist will be responsible for the coordination and support of the day-to-day training activities, including onboarding new employees, training and qualifications, trainer coordination and department-wide training initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Support the new hire onboarding process by coordinating trainer assignments and conducting and/or facilitating onboarding activities; provide mentorship to new hires.
  • Deliver individual On-the-Job Training (OJT) utilizing OJT Guides, Work Instructions, Quality Plans, etc.
  • Conduct qualification assessments utilizing appropriate JQS files to ensure employees have the skill and knowledge necessary to produce quality parts.
  • Monitor employee progression through the onboarding and qualification process adjusting training activities with management as needed to include trainer assignments, work schedules, etc.
  • Coordinate and perform administrative functions necessary to document training activities (onboarding, training and qualifications); e.g. training database entries, learning plan preparations, Kiosk access, e-Learning tools.
  • Provide edits and feedback to OJT Guides, JQS files and other training items as identified based on both operator and manager feedback.
  • Review trainer performance and recommend improvements to trainer qualification content and process; may recruit, select, and train instructors.
  • Identify potential gaps in training and qualification documentation and processes and work with Training Department and Operations to resolve.
  • Provide Operations support by participating and/or leading improvement efforts within site operations.
  • Provide training in support of Procedure, Work Instruction and Quality Plan changes, RCA actions, annual training requirements, etc.
  • Champion new business processes and systems, e.g. LMS, Beekeeper, MES.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered a candidate must be able to meet the following qualifications:

  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
  • Lift, push & pull 10 to 50 lbs.
  • Wear department required, employer provided, personal protection equipment (PPE)
  • Regularly stand and move throughout the department and shift
  • Mechanical aptitude and prior industrial experience a plus
