Overview

Before training to be a bartender we will train you in the areas of Host, Server Assistant, Banquet Server, and Server as you obtain the knowledge necessary to progress and become a bartender at Kalamazoo Country Club. You will be expected to stock the bar and complete opening and closing requirements, prepare and serve beverages according to standard recipes, comply with basic safety and sanitation requirements, have a basic knowledge of clubs operating systems, and have the ability to work small or large events with minimal supervision.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Mix, prepare, and serve drinks to members and guests and mix and prepare drinks ordered by food and beverage servers according to approved standard recipes.

  • Follow set-up procedures and inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.

  • Request additional supplies as necessary and stocks the bar.

  • Follow set-up procedures.

  • Greet members and guests.

  • Report complaints to a manager as they occur.

  • Maintain and cleans bar area and equipment.

  • Maintain records of liquors, beers, and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times.

  • Ensure that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring and takes precautions against possible spoilage

  • Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions and training as required

  • Carefully follows all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and informs the manager if continued service to a member or guest is in question.

  • Serves drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server.

  • Continually practice beverage and revenue control procedures.

  • Thank members and guests; invite them to return.

What You Need for this Position
  • Bartending experience preferred

  • Respect and support fellow team members

  • Passionate about the guest experience

  • TIPS certifiable

  • Continuous repetitive motions.

  • Work in a hot, humid and noisy environment.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more

  • Able to stoop and bend

  • Occasionally able to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment

  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards

  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
