Job description

Job Summary: 

Host/ess-Counter/Cashier are responsible for receiving, delighting, and serving customers at the front counter, taking orders, operating the cash register, maintaining cleanliness, and performing other assigned tasks. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Management Team on duty (and the Station In-Charge).
  • Set-up chairs at the receiving area while waiting to be seated at the dining area (if applicable).
  • Manage guest/s’ experience who are in queue, especially when queue is long.
  • Provide order form with pencil on the clip board for all the guests in queue, so they can decide what to order while waiting in queue.
  • Determine the sequence of priorities for the first four parties in the queue. Coordinate with the Management Team on Duty and Station In-Charge on the number of pax in each party of guest to prepare the correct table size and seating arrangement.
  • Inform guest/s their sequence of priorities when all guests in that party are all present. 
  • Communicate Management Team on Duty and Station In-Charge on table availability using the 2-way radio.
  • Receive, sit guest/s, send guests off warmly, and encourage guests to come again.
  • Present the order form and explain how to use it.
  • Describe the various types of Dim Sum (if guest/s are not familiar with the menu); recommend and introduce them to the menu and any promotional dishes.
  • Take the customer/s’ orders, suggestive sell (upsell), repeat to confirm and avoid errors in orders and collect the order form when ready.
  • Key in the orders to the P.O.S including any variations or special instructions in the serving of food orders.
  • Observe cash control procedures and print out of reports in POS. 

Job Requirements:

  • This position requires regular availability on weekends, holidays and peak dining hours
  • Minimum of two years high school education
  • 1 year of crew member experience in a similar industry, preferred, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
