What are the typical work schedule and responsibilities for a part-time Radiation Oncologist?

As a part-time Radiation Oncologist, your schedule may vary depending on the facility's needs, but often includes set days each week or flexible hours to accommodate patient volume. Responsibilities typically involve conducting patient consultations, developing and evaluating individualized treatment plans, overseeing radiation therapy sessions, and collaborating with other oncology specialists and support staff. You may also participate in tumor boards, provide follow-up care, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Despite the reduced hours, your role has a significant impact on patient care and benefits from the support of a cohesive, multidisciplinary team.
