We are currently searching for a Metal Fabricator to join our team!
The Company: Ericson Manufacturing engineers and manufactures temporary power, lighting and safety electrical products for your workplace. Family owned and operated since 1918, our mission is to safeguard your jobsite with quality and innovative solutions with a commitment to safety, ease of use and reliability.

General Purpose: Fabricates and assembles structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, and metal parts for buildings and maintenance and production frames according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a team to provide customer satisfaction for customer orders.
  • Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal.
  • Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
  • Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.
  • May fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
  • May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer.
  • Operating equipment safely and applying safety practices at work while performing his/her duties.
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Clean and prepare product for final assembly
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, drill presses, saws, and laser cutting equipment.
  • Communicating necessary equipment maintenance to supervisor.
  • Assist in repairs as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Cross trained to support other job functions in manufacturing facility as needed.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:

  1. High School diploma, or equivalent
  2. Needs to be able to work with limited supervision
  3. Must be able to read and understand mechanical blueprints, production/assembly instructions, parts lists, verbal instruction and notes
  4. Ability to apply previous experience to perform detailed written or oral instructions.
  5. Must have the ability to resolve minor problems as they arise.
