Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant/Limited Rad Tech, you will serve as a vital professional in our fast-paced Urgent Care department. You will provide essential clinical support by performing high-quality diagnostic x-ray procedures while simultaneously assisting providers with direct patient care. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient clinical environment, ensuring that all imaging and medical assistant services meet the high standards of care and professionalism expected at our facility. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW.
Every day you will operate diagnostic radiology equipment to produce clinical x-ray films, ensuring patient safety and adherence to established radiation protocols. Your routine will include preparing patients for examinations, obtaining and documenting accurate vital signs, administering medications under physician direction, and managing medical records. Additionally, you will be responsible for clinical administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, maintaining examination rooms, stocking necessary supplies, and handling insurance documentation to ensure seamless daily operations.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to thrive in a high-stress environment, and a commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse medical staff and patients are essential for this position.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, or GED General Studies
  • Graduate of approved school of radiologic technology required
  • Six months Medical Assistant and medical back office experience
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health MedicalFoundation H.R. department inconjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.) 
  • Limited Radiologic Technologist: CA, and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR.


Preferred

  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire.
