What We're Looking For
We're seeking a motivated Network Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot networking and communication systems onsite in California. The right candidate will bring solid hands-on experience and a collaborative mindset, supporting network architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting while working closely with senior engineers and project teams. This individual will contribute to technical efforts, support junior staff when appropriate, and help ensure best practices are followed across all phases of network deployment and support.
This is a travel-based position, with majority of the work taking place at the customer site in California.
What You'll Do
As a key member of the network engineering team, you will support the design, implementation, and sustainment of enterprise network solutions in a dynamic on-site environment.
  • Installation & Setup: Perform rack and stack, cabling, labeling, and power-up of networking equipment across various environments while following established standards and procedures
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve network issues involving routers, switches, and connectivity, escalating complex issues when needed
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and project leads to implement solutions and maintain consistent technical standards
  • Customer Engagement: Provide responsive, customer-focused technical support and communicate status, issues, and resolutions clearly and professionally
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate configuration records and service documentation; contribute to clear, actionable technical reports and updates

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • DoW (DoD) Security Clearance required
  • Proven, hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Aruba networking platforms in enterprise or DoD environments (hands-on experience with Aruba strongly preferred)
  • Expertise in physical infrastructure: cabling, racking, stacking, power configuration
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across Layer 1-3 technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used network analysis and monitoring tools
  • Experience mentoring or guiding technical teams is a plus

Certifications
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
  • Preferred Computing Environment Certification: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and/or Aruba Certified Associate (ACA)

Work Location
  • 100% travel-based position
  • Spend 8 weeks working onsite in California, followed by 10 days remote/WFH
  • All travel and onsite accommodation expenses fully covered
  • Daily per diem allowance for meals and incidental expenses. (Note: based on GSA rates and typically tax-free when aligned with federal travel guidelines)
