Job Summary:
Georgia IT, Inc. is looking for a Data Center Support / Operations Engineer to manage and support data center operations. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining server and network hardware while ensuring high availability and security best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and support data center operations for physical and virtual infrastructure
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain server and network hardware (Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto)
• Perform structured cabling, rack & stack, patching, labeling, and documentation
• Monitor and manage power distribution, cooling systems, and environmental controls
• Provide remote hands and smart hands support for internal teams and customers
• Ensure high availability, uptime, and capacity planning/scaling
• Implement and maintain secure access controls and follow security best practices
• Troubleshoot hardware failures and coordinate replacements (RMA, vendor support)
• Follow and enforce operational standards, SOPs, and compliance requirements
• Support incident response, maintenance windows, and change management activities
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proven experience as a Data Center Operations Engineer / Support Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with: Servers: Dell, enterprise-grade hardware
• Strong hands-on experience with: Networking: Cisco switches/routers, Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience with structured cabling, rack & stack, and cable management
• Knowledge of power systems, UPS, PDUs, generators, and cooling infrastructure
• Experience providing remote hands support in data center environments
• Understanding of data center security, access controls, and monitoring
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week and perform physical tasks (lifting equipment, rack work)
