Job Summary

The Race Technician supports S&S Cycle’s high-performance racing initiatives. This role performs precision assembly work, conducts performance inspections, assists with dyno testing, and ensures all racing components meet S&S performance, quality, and safety standards.

Essential Functions
  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
  • Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
  • Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
  • Provide professional customer service to our customers
  • Provide technical assistance to our customers
  • Represent S&S at trade shows, seminars, and races
  • Assist with return authorizations
  • Assist customers with special order forms
  • Approve and enter special orders into system
  • Assist sales by directing customers to S&S products for their needs
  • Assist racers with/by assembling approved components
  • Build or assist in building marketing show displays and cutaways
  • Ability to operate a mill, lathe, surface grinder and hone
  • Ability to repair or rebuild race lower ends / or engines
Qualifications
  • Experienced working as a racing technical services representative
  • Experienced working as a test or motorcycle technician or equivalent
  • Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
  • High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Well organized and self-directed
  • Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
  • Air cooled v-twin experience preferred
  • Must have a good driving record and a valid motorcycle operator’s license – or the ability to get one
  • 2 Year Technical Degree preferred with an emphasis in test equipment, internal combustion engine or electronic engine control systems or 4 years experience in similar position
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in both an office environment a testing lab environment, and race track; employee will be exposed to various noise levels from equipment, tools, and engines

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Must comply with safety equipment standards: safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toe shoes when present in areas where required
