Senior Oracle Database Administrator (SME โ€“ RAC / Exadata / Supercluster)
Location: Huntsville, AL (100% On-Site)
Clearance: Active Top Secret required Overview
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (SME) to support enterprise database infrastructure within a highly secure, mission-critical federal environment. This role will focus on managing large-scale, high-availability Oracle database systems, including clustered and engineered systems, ensuring performance, resilience, and security across complex environments.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC and engineered platforms, and has experience supporting high-performance, distributed systems. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments, including clustered and high-availability systems
Design, configure, and support Oracle RAC and engineered systems (e.g., Exadata or similar platforms)
Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and scalability across large-scale systems
Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity
Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and system performance issues
Implement and maintain database security controls, including access management and compliance requirements
Support data integrity, consistency, and reliability across enterprise applications
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and engineering teams to support database integration and system performance Advanced Responsibilities Lead database architecture and design efforts for high-performance, distributed database environments
Provide subject matter expertise on RAC clustering, storage optimization, and engineered systems
Develop and enforce database standards, policies, and best practices
Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and system optimization strategies
Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and solutions

Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in Oracle database administration
Strong experience with Oracle RAC environments
Experience supporting large-scale, high-availability database systems
Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting Oracle databases
Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., RMAN) and disaster recovery solutions
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems
Strong understanding of database security, patching, and lifecycle management
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with engineered systems such as Oracle Exadata or Supercluster environments
Experience supporting data-intensive or mission-critical applications
Familiarity with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code practices
Experience working in secure, compliance-driven federal environments
