Law Clerk to Justice R. Patrick DeWine

Supreme Court of Ohio Justice R. Patrick DeWine is accepting applications for the position of Judicial Law Clerk in his chambers. The position will commence January 2028 and will run through January 2029.

Job Description

What You'll Do: Judicial Law Clerks review and analyze arguments presented in a variety of motions and memoranda in support of discretionary jurisdiction. In addition, Judicial Law Clerks research and prepare initial drafts of merit opinions at the direction of the Justice.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For: The successful applicant will be either a licensed attorney or a recent law school graduate who is sitting for a bar examination prior to the commencement date of the position. Prior clerkship experience is strongly preferred. The ability to work independently, collaboratively, and efficiently is required. Superior research, analytical, and writing abilities are mandatory.

Supplemental Information

The salary for the position will be set based on experience with a range beginning at $106,329.60. A competitive benefits package is also provided. This is a State of Ohio, exempt, unclassified position.
