Job description

The Lead Compounding Technician oversees planning, scheduling, and daily execution for the compounding/manufacture of sterile and non-sterile products in the controlled and classified areas. The incumbent in this position is responsible for daily coordination and working schedules for the compounding teams that are assigned to work in a specific area. In partnership with the site leaders sponsors a safety, quality and compliance focused site culture which embraces RFT (right first time) and CI (continuous improvement) expectations.
This is a full-time role for our 2nd Shift, working Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM . This is a set, consistent schedule with minimum overtime requirements and based on site in our Sugar Land, TX location. This is a safety sensitive position that may be subject to random drug testing, in accordance with applicable laws.

What the Lead Compounding Pharmacy Technician Does Each Day:
  • Will directly support manufacturing operations including but not limited to:
  • Oversees activities, including scheduling, cleaning, preparation of manufacturing hoods to perform compounding activities
  • Coordinates the working schedules for the compounding teams that are assigned to work as per production schedule
  • Assist compounders on batch record completion and accuracy of the record
  • Manage production WIP inside the cleanroom and ensure continue production/product flow
  • Coach compounders to utilize correct and appropriate aseptic techniques at all times
  • Identify adverse or negative trends within their group / employee and escalate them effectively to supervisor
  • Support disinfection of materials prior to transporting into ISO 7 Room (Clean Room) and to manufacturing hoods
  • Support Operations on the completion and resolution of process deviations, incidents investigations and CAPA
  • Ensure timely completion of batch record documentation, manufacturing operations logs, cleaning logs, comply with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices (21CFR210 and 211), Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), company policies and procedures
  • Communicates effectively to Operations, Quality, and other functional support staff

  • Have a strong attention to detail and carefully follows compounding protocols and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the job
  • Are proactive and demonstrate initiative when appropriate; uses their time wisely

Minimum Requirements for this Role:
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
  • Able and willing to walk, stoop, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout each shift, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • 18+ years of age
  • Familiarity with and comfortable using mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, handhelds
  • Able and willing to follow "garb and gown" requirements from head to toe in order to maintain a sterile, clean room environment. This includes:
    • Hand washing
    • Wearing hair net, shoe covers, facemask, sterile gown, and gloves, etc.
    • Stringent regulations concerning, for example, the carrying of cellphones, the wearing of jewelry and makeup, and the length / type of fingernails
  • Familiarity with and comfortable using mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, handhelds
  • 3 years of direct IV compounding experience
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Quva is not able to sponsor applicants for work visas

Any of the Following Will Give You an Edge:
  • Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) License
  • Certified in ACPE sterile products
  • Experience in pharmacy compounding
  • Knowledge of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Processes)
  • Knowledge of ISO 5/7 environment cleanroom gowning
