Job description

Quill is a valuable part of the Staples family of brands. Since 1956, Quill has held its position as a leader in office supplies.
Acquired by Staples in 1998, Quill delivers the essential services, solutions, and award-winning customer support to help our customers - and our people - thrive. When you partner with Quill, as a customer or as an associate, every workday is more rewarding.
From paper, ink & toner, to technology and custom print, we deliver the right products at the right value, plus an unmatched assortment of over 900 instant rewards available with every order. We are hiring an Account Manager, Inside Sales (B2B) to grow and manage a portfolio of active business customers. In this role, you'll focus on expanding customer spend, introducing new product categories, and strengthening long-term relationships.
You'll manage an established book of business and be responsible for identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet across categories like office supplies, breakroom, print, promotional products, furniture, and technology.
This is a great opportunity for both early-career candidates, those with transferrable skills looking to shift into a sales role and experienced account managers who thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships
  • Make outbound calls to drive repeat business and uncover new sales opportunities
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across multiple product categories
  • Analyze customer purchasing behavior to recommend tailored solutions
  • Manage a consistent sales pipeline and meet daily/weekly productivity targets
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Educate customers on product offerings, pricing, and consolidation opportunities

What you bring to the table:
  • Strong communication skills (phone + written)
  • Ability to build relationships and influence buying decisions
  • Comfortable making outbound calls in a metrics-driven environment
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to identify, develop, and close sales opportunities
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • High level of professionalism and integrity

What's needed - Basic Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work onsite at our Lincolnshire, IL location at least 4 days per week

What's needed - Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, retail sales, or another customer-facing role
  • Experience managing accounts or building client relationships is a plus
  • Exposure to B2B sales environments preferred

We Offer:
• Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups
• 112 Hours of PTO + 7 observed holidays + 1 floating holiday
• Discounts, 401(k) match, wellness programs, and more!
