Job description

POSITION 26A150 TITLE: Middle School Golf Coach (26-27)

LOCATION: Countywide 

EMPLOYMENT TERM: 2026-2027 School year, season varies including flex days   

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Organize and carry out an athletic program that will promote team and school pride 

2. Accept the responsibility for the welfare of the students under his/her supervision 

3. Attempt to integrate the athletic program with the total school program 

4. Promote positive public relations in regard to the school's athletic program 

5. Abide by the league, county, state, and federal rules and regulations 

6. Accept responsibility for the behavior and welfare of his/her team before and after practice or a contest 

7. Work in conjunction and coordination with athletic programs at other school levels 

8. Accept responsibility for the retention and care of equipment 

9. Provide leadership and support in his/her area of responsibility 

10. Maintain professional work habits 

11. Accept the responsibility of and help maintain professional behavior of all assistant coaches 

12. Maintain and upgrade his/her professional skills 

13. Perform all other duties as assigned by principal or athletic director. 

QUALIFICATIONS: A coach must be certified as a teacher (or substitute) in the State of WV or complete the National Federal Interscholastic Coaches Education Program as endorsed by the WVSSAC and the State Board of Education, and receive a coaching authorization issued by the WV Department of Education. Must also have or be willing to get current CPR/AED certification. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be fully credentialed professionals or substitutes or hold a valid WVDE coaching certification before participating in ANY coaching duties. Coaching duties must not interfere with other contracted duties held by the successful applicant, and the successful applicant must be available for practice and game times and dates as determined by the principal.
