CCI Network Solutions is seeking Permit Coordinators who will assist with permit research and applications for various governmental, quasi-governmental, and utility bodies.  They will monitor progress of applications and help facilitate jurisdictional requests for additional information because of the application review process.  The right candidates will come from a background of utility permitting from coordination to completion, preferably within the Cable TV industry.  They may also be experienced in developing best practices and operating procedures for the permitting process.  They will also be able to work very successfully in partnership with our customer base, field staff, and Engineering Leadership teams.  We offer a collaborative environment with a great work culture that encourages learning and pushes you to rise to the next level!   

Responsibilities 

  • Receive and enter incoming work from various sources (email, PDFs, paper, FTP sites, customer databases, etc.) into online database software accurately, and within established timeframes. 
  • Researches permitting requirements with utility providers and local stakeholders 
  • Gather required field data for permit entity requests. 
  • Submittal and Receipt various types of permits such as: railroad, DOT, pole, etc. 
  • Track permits on required projects. 
  • Receive, review, and submit subcontractor invoices for approval. Track subcontractor invoices through process to ensure established timeframes are met.  
  • Enter subcontract invoices into Pods. 
  • Scan field notes and other maps as requested. 
  • Accurately compile and enter data to create necessary reports. 
  • Create and promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to employees, the public and customers. This includes ensuring that service and quality provided to customers is satisfactory. 
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by Field Engineering Leadership. 

Qualifications we are looking for 

  • Highly motivated, driven, and personable candidates with a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent field of study preferred.   
  • Production-based utility permitting experience preferred; Cable TV experience strongly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Cable TV design and basic construction practices of Cable TV systems. 
  • Ocalc, span master, ruling span, njuns software experience. 
  • Experience utilizing NJUNS (National Joint Utilities Notification Software) a strong plus! 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.; experience with Access or easy-code databases, i.e., Quickbase, a plus! 
  • Ability to update and/or create PDF maps for permits using Bluebeam or PDF editor. 
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies. 
  • Must have a customer service mindset. 
  • Ability to multi-task, handle interruptions & prioritize workloads while remaining productive is a must. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently. 
  • Willingness to learn; adapt and accept increased responsibility. 
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, and able to work effectivity in a remote location.

Shift is full-time, 40 hours per week minimum, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST.  Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours as necessary.
