Job description

We are looking for a QUARRY COORDINATOR to join our Hannibal, MO plant. The prime objective of the Quarry Coordinator is to implement the plants mining plan to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials (limestone, shale, fire, clay, etc.) of suitable quality and volume to meet or exceed the demand of the cement manufacturing facility.

About the Role
Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and supervise quarry personnel.
  • Facilitate the training and development of quarry personnel.
  • Manage performance of employees through feedback, coaching, and formal and informal performance reviews.
  • Provide safety leadership for the quarry - Actively participate in the plant safety observation program.
  • Ensure that safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented, updated, and consistently followed by employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for the quarry, mining, and reclamation.
  • Working in conjunction with the corporate mining group and the Quality Manager, participate in the development of the strategic plans for the quarry.
  • Ensure execution of short term, long term and daily mine plan. Provide feedback to the corporate mining group on the mining plan status, successes, and challenges.
  • Track and utilize quarry specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance.
  • Schedule and manage the stripping contractor and other contractors as required.
  • Validate, implement and manage SOP's for the quarry operation.
  • Lead process improvement projects for the quarry operation.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving quarry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of quarry equipment downtime.
  • Support corporate mining initiatives and play an active role in assistance requested at other locations.
  • Communicate any safety, environmental, or operational concerns to management.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and propose solutions
  • Maintain harmonious relationship with surrounding landowners.

About You
We Require:
  • Five (5) or more years of previous experience in Quarry and/or Mining Operations.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively and persuasively communicate (verbal and writing).
  • Strong computer literacy with various software programs.
  • Must display good employability skills (attendance, job performance, attitude, willingness to work, etc.).
