Job description

Job Title: Quarry Crushing & Maintenance Laborer
Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction, maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Quarry Crushing/Maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible to set up, mechanically maintain and operate various pieces of equipment with the ability to labor throughout the day.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with safety rules, always maintaining safe work practices and operating procedures. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit-Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
  • Operate Plant Crusher and Equipment associated with the manufacturing process
  • Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Varying types of work including Quarry Maintenance, Shoveling, Welding
  • Basic troubleshooting
  • Daily Inspection and Documentation of Equipment and Work areas, notifying Management of any concerns or deficiencies.
  • Cross train within other aspects of the Quarry, Truck loading, Etc.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training
  • Reliable transportation to and from work site
  • Strong work ethic
  • Physical Organization and time management
  • This is a seasonal position. Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, Overtime as required. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
  • Unafraid of heights
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
  • Consent to a DMV license evaluation
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and MSHA Training

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
  • Must be able to work in a noisy area
  • Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:
  • Ability to read and understand SDS
  • Ability to work in all types of weather
  • Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred
  • Prior crushing and/or laborer/maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • High school diploma or GED - a two-year technical degree is preferred
  • Basic math skills

Salary Range: $20-$22
