Job Title: Quarry Ground Hand

Location: Uvalde, Texas

Company Overview:
Uvalde Quarry Company is a leading producer of quality aggregate materials serving the construction and infrastructure industries. We take pride in maintaining a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation.

Position Summary:
We’re seeking a dependable and hardworking Quarry Ground Hand to assist with daily quarry operations. This position supports plant production, equipment maintenance, and general yard duties to ensure smooth and safe site operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general labor tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, washing, and maintaining plant areas.
  • Assist with setup, operation, and cleanup of crushing and screening equipment.
  • Help maintain conveyors, chutes, and other material handling systems.
  • Monitor material flow and communicate with equipment operators to maintain production efficiency.
  • Follow all MSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate skid steers, loaders, or water trucks (experience preferred but not required).
  • Perform pre-shift inspections and minor maintenance on tools and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation and ability to report on time.
  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
  • Previous experience in an aggregate or heavy equipment environment is a plus.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (Saturdays depending on production needs).
  • Day shift with overtime opportunities.
