Job description

What to expect:

Martin Marietta is seeking a Foreman to join our team. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently supervising onsite operational activities which may include pit and/or plant production (secondary processing plant), plant maintenance, and mobile equipment operations. Additionally, the foreman is responsible for providing leadership to hourly workforce to ensure safe and efficient production, maintenance, and customer service.

A typical day for a(n) Foreman may include:

  • Training and development of team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of hourly workforce
  • Successfully leading the Company's safety initiatives
  • Practical application of working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possessing a strong personal commitment to safety
  • Implementing environmental processes and regulations
  • Successfully leading and managing established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics
  • Participating in yearly planning of quarry production, maintenance and salary costs to meet budget goals
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil), Business, or equivalent experience
  • Have 4 years' experience in aggregate operations with understanding of mineral processing equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated mobile equipment
  • Have a minimum 1-year of supervisory experience in a mining environment
  • Possess excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills
  • Are Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Have experience with pit design/exploration, drilling, blasting, inventory control, inventory measures and customer service preferred
  • Have the ability to work flexible schedule as required; including nights and weekends
