What is quantum science solutions?

Quantum Science Solutions refers to the application of quantum theory and quantum technologies to solve complex problems in fields such as computing, communication, sensing, and cryptography. Professionals in this area work on developing and implementing quantum algorithms, building quantum hardware, and creating innovative solutions that leverage quantum mechanics' unique properties. These solutions have the potential to revolutionize industries by enabling faster computations, ultra-secure communications, and highly sensitive measurements. The field is multidisciplinary, involving physics, computer science, engineering, and mathematics.

What skills and qualifications are needed to work in quantum science solutions?

To thrive in Quantum Science Solutions, you need a solid background in quantum mechanics, mathematics, and computer science, often supported by an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in physics, engineering, or a related field. Proficiency with quantum programming languages (such as Qiskit or Cirq), simulation platforms, and familiarity with quantum hardware are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help professionals collaborate and convey complex concepts. These skills are crucial for developing innovative quantum technologies and bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical applications.

What are common challenges faced by professionals in quantum science solutions, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Quantum Science Solutions often encounter challenges such as rapidly evolving technology, the interdisciplinary nature of the work, and the need for collaboration across diverse fields like physics, computer science, and engineering. Staying up-to-date with the latest research and developments is crucial, so ongoing learning and professional development are highly encouraged. Effective communication and teamwork skills are also essential, as projects typically involve working closely with experts from various backgrounds to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

What is the difference between Quantum Science Solutions vs Quantum Computing Technician?

AspectQuantum Science SolutionsQuantum Computing Technician

Job description

Description

Quantum Sky is looking for a Quantum Solutions Strategist - someone who lives at the intersection of quantum tech, mission problems, and new business. You'll be the connective tissue between our Project 137 Quantum Innovation team, our business development engine, and the line organizations actually delivering the work.

You've applied quantum technology to real government missions and know how to turn that experience into solutions customers actually buy. You think like a founder: fusing Project 137's quantum offerings with OEM technology, and using your deep Quantum Sky integration chops to land wedge engagements - the toeholds that set up the bigger quantum plays down the road.

You know systems integration. You know federal - especially Defense. You know how to build a solution that's compelling, cost-effective, and different enough to win. You'll get in early on pursuits and drive strategy the whole way from capture to proposal.

What You'll Own

  • Shape win strategy shoulder-to-shoulder with Line, BD, Capture Managers, Technical SMEs, BU leadership, proposal, and pricing - running BD call plans (or program tech insertion) while driving the work products the BD lifecycle demands
  • Feed real customer and market signal back into Project 137 to help shape the quantum product roadmap
  • Build solutions to customer problems that consistently get scored superior - not just compliant
  • Own or contribute to BOE/BOM artifacts that make the pricing story credible
  • Team up with Recruiting and Capture to vet Key Personnel candidates
  • Provide advanced quantum sales engineering support for our Growth and Business Development teams
  • Identify, cultivate, and establish go-to-market motions with major quantum OEMs
Qualifications

What You Bring

Table stakes:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field - or equivalent experience that gets you to the same place
  • 3+ years architecting quantum computing solutions, with 5+ meaningful engagement wins to show for it
  • 10+ years driving technology strategy against complex client requirements - assessment, design, and delivery - in the tech services world

Bonus points:

  • 15+ years shaping proposal solutions inside government contracting, on the multi-teammate, solutions-heavy pursuits
  • Fluent in RMF, NIST CSF, FedRAMP, and the rest of the government cyber-framework alphabet soup
  • Can talk Systems SELC and MBSE credibly - in a proposal room or a technical one
  • Scar tissue from AAS/FEDSIM proposals
  • Active SECRET clearance, or a clear path to one
About Tyto Athene

Compensation:

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $190,000 and $230,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.

Benefits:

  • Highlights of our benefits include Health/Dental/Vision, 401(k) match, Paid Time Off, STD/LTD/Life Insurance, Referral Bonuses, professional development reimbursement, and parental leave.

The world the mission operates in is going post-quantum, contested, and machine-speed. Quantum Sky engineers the advantage across cyber, networks, software, and quantum because the mission demands dominance, not parity. We don't follow the map. We draw it.

At Quantum Sky, we believe that success starts with our people. We foster a collaborative, innovative, and mission-driven environment where every team member plays a critical role in shaping the future of technology. Are you ready to join #TeamQuantumSky?
