Job description

Quantitative Insights Analyst – Contract

Length: 6-month contract, full-time, 30-40 hrs./wk.
Location/time zone: Remote, US-based
Level: Senior, 5+ years
Compensation: $75/hr
Status: Independent Contractor based in the US

About the Engagement

This is a quantitative insights role embedded within a customer experience insights practice at a large software company. The practice has deep expertise in qualitative research and journey management, and is now building out rigorous quantification so its recommendations carry further in executive decision-making.

The scope centers on putting numbers behind experience findings — sizing customer journey moments in terms of customer volume, revenue exposure, and effort reduction, and building the measurement frameworks that make prioritization comparable across the organizations the practice serves. Quantifying a qualitative finding is what turns it into a funded decision, and that is the core contribution of this role.

Responsibilities

Opportunity sizing and business impact

  • Size key customer journey moments, friction points, opportunities, and solutions in terms of addressable customer volume, revenue exposure, and effort reduction
  • Produce business-impact assessments for research and design recommendations that hold up under Finance and leadership scrutiny
  • Score and rank opportunities against a consistent, documented framework so prioritization is comparable across verticals and personas
  • Prepare quantified inputs for senior leadership decision forums

Journey performance measurement

  • Build and maintain journey performance scorecards and KPI frameworks for critical customer and growth journeys
  • Connect qualitative findings to measurable signals including CES, NPS, behavioral friction, funnel performance, conversion, retention, and customer effort
  • Develop persona-level and segment-level insight models
  • Support in-production experience monitoring by turning behavioral signal into interpretable trend rather than raw telemetry

Evidence and AI infrastructure

  • Establish and maintain a single integrated evidence repository, so a claim in a readout can be traced back to its source without reconstruction
  • Maintain traceability from source evidence to recommendation to business impact across active workstreams
  • Maintain and improve recurring AI workflows, automations, data pulls, survey cuts, and dashboard inputs
  • Prepare clean, self-explanatory data views for stakeholder readouts and leadership decisions
  • Build data views usable by AI retrieval workflows, in partnership with the team's AI insights lead

Survey and VoC analytics

  • Design and analyze validation surveys that test hypotheses emerging from qualitative research
  • Partner with the Voice of Customer team to analyze NPS, CES, and VoC data at journey, persona, and segment level
  • Apply appropriate statistical treatment and state confidence and limitations plainly, including sample size, sampling frame, and instrument

Partnership and enablement

  • Partner with researchers, service designers, and journey owners so recommendations are supported, defensible, and prioritized
  • Work with analytics and data engineering counterparts to specify what the governed data substrate needs to deliver
  • Coach the wider practice on quantitative reasoning, so basic sizing and signal interpretation do not always require this role
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years in quantitative research, product analytics, insights analytics, or a comparable applied analysis role
  • Demonstrated experience translating mixed qualitative and quantitative evidence into recommendations that leadership acted on
  • Strong working knowledge of AI tools and workflows
  • SQL and at least one analysis environment such as Python or R
  • Experience with survey design and analysis, including sampling, weighting, and honest treatment of uncertainty
  • Familiarity with experience measurement constructs including NPS, CES, CSAT, and funnel and retention analysis
  • Ability to build clear data views and dashboards for non-technical audiences
  • Comfort operating in a federated environment where data ownership is distributed and no single source is authoritative
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with journey management practice or journey analytics, ideally with a journey platform such as TheyDo
  • Exposure to Snowflake or a comparable enterprise data warehouse, and to a semantic or metrics layer
  • Experience with behavioral analytics tooling such as FullStory, and with survey platforms such as Qualtrics
  • Background in SaaS or subscription business measurement, including ARR, conversion, and expansion mechanics
  • Familiarity with causal inference methods and with the limits of observational data
  • Experience contributing to AI-assisted or retrieval-grounded analysis workflows
Environment and Tooling

The role operates across a journey management platform as system of record, an enterprise data warehouse as the evidence store, a qualitative research repository, a survey platform, a behavioral analytics tool, and standard enterprise documentation tools. MCP-based integration across these systems is in development, and this role is a primary consumer and specifier of that fabric.
