Internship Overview

We believe the best way to start your career is by doing work you actually care about. In our internship program, you take the driver’s seat. We tailor your day-to-day projects around your specific career interests and goals, not just a checklist of corporate chores.

As a leading electrical contractor, we’ll give you an insider’s look into the industry through real-world experience on active projects. You’ll get to see how different teams collaborate to bring complex projects to life, build practical and professional skills, and learn directly from industry pros in the field and office.

Role Overview

Because our program is tailored to your goals, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the areas that interest you most. You might help analyze project cost drivers alongside project managers, assist with the month-end close process, prepare monthly financial summaries, or support corporate audit documentation. No matter where your interests lead, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that make a lasting impact on our culture and company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Analysis

  • Assist with processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Support project cost tracking, budget analysis, and financial forecasting while reviewing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable.

Reporting & Compliance Support

  • Help prepare monthly financial reports, job cost summaries, and corporate reporting packages.
  • Assist with the month-end close process, conduct financial research to support business decisions, participate in audits, and help ensure adherence to internal financial controls.

Explore What Interest You Most

  • Tailor your project workload around your specific career goals. You’ll get opportunities to collaborate directly with project managers to analyze cost drivers, dive into corporate financial reporting, shadow internal audit workflows, or focus on accounting operations.

Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Curious and ready to jump in, just bring enthusiasm, ask great questions, and be excited to take ownership of real financial and quantitative projects.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a keen interest in business finance and data integrity.
  • Trustworthy and ethical, with flawless integrity and the discretion needed to handle sensitive financial information behind the scenes.

Demonstrated Accomplishments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly to team members across departments.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking applied to financial data, cost tracking, or budget analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and a quick ability to learn internal financial software.

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment.  Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hour

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity. *
