This role is well-suited for a candidate who brings strong quantitative aptitude, technical curiosity, and an interest in applying analytical tools to complex business challenges in the natural gas industry.

Leveraging strong quantitative and analytical skills, the Quantitative Analyst will help experienced natural gas professionals operate more efficiently, effectively, and intelligently. The Quantitative Analyst will work as part of a collaborative team alongside experienced quantitative, technical, and business professionals to understand business needs, support data integrity, and follow best practices related to security and compliance.

This role blends technical problem-solving with close collaboration across the business, providing an opportunity to build practical analytical solutions while developing deeper knowledge of natural gas operations over time.

Location: Onsite in Omaha, NE

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead innovative, technical 0-to-1 design and development of models, simulations, and analytics that enhance optimization of transport and storage components within the natural gas value chain
  • Apply first-principles thinking, curiosity, and humility to deeply understand complex business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions
  • Work closely with quantitative, technical, and business partners to understand operational needs, shape practical analytical solutions, and build trusted relationships that enable successful outcomes

  • Build trust and adoption by delivering exceptional customer support for products, ensuring business users feel confident in adopting and applying new solutions
  • Navigate ambiguous problem spaces with curiosity and sound judgment, balancing independent problem-solving with input from others to drive work toward results
  • Support initiatives across the full project lifecycle โ€“ from concept through implementation โ€“ ensuring clear requirements, thoughtful evaluation of operational risks and business value, and on-time delivery
  • Test and validate upcoming product releases to ensure smooth and reliable deployment to users

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in at least one analytical or scripting language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) and SQL, with demonstrated ability to write maintainable, testable, and efficient code in an enterprise environment
  • Experience applying graph data structures and algorithms in analytical or operational contexts

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience applying analytical and creative problem-solving skills to complex, dynamic, and unstructured business challenges
  • Understanding of business processes, organizational operations, and the broader business landscape
  • Experience delivering business intelligence, operational analytics, predictive analytics, and advanced analytical solutions, preferably within energy commodities, trading, supply chain logistics, financial derivatives, and/or options
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, agentic system development, graph theory, knowledge graph architecture, and related technologies (e.g., Memgraph, Neo4j, Cypher)
  • Strong skills in applied computational mathematics, optimization, simulation programming, data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Plotly Dash), and advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels
