Job description

Macro Quant Developer
Jain Global, LLC
Jain Global is an innovative multi-strategy investment firm founded in July 2024 by Bobby Jain with over 400 employees operating from offices in New York, Houston, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong, we are looking to add to our growing teams.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Developer to join our New York City team, working directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Quants across a front-office trading environment. This role is ideal for a Python expert who thrives in a fast-paced, trading-aligned setting and can deliver high-performance tools and infrastructure that directly impact business outcomes. You'll operate at the intersection of trading, quantitative research, and platform engineering, building systems that power execution, risk, and analytics across a range of investment strategies.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with PMs, Traders, and Desk Analysts to design and implement real-time trading tools, risk dashboards, and data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain scalable applications and services that support front-office and risk-aligned workflows across multiple asset classes.
  • Serve as a hands-on "carpenter," building robust systems from the ground up-owning projects end-to-end, from architecture to deployment.
  • Ensure system reliability, latency performance, and data integrity across mission-critical components.
  • Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to leverage core services and align with best practices.
  • Support the desk with fast, high-quality delivery while maintaining long-term maintainability and scalability.
  • Promote modern software engineering practices across testing, CI/CD, and observability.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in front-office or risk-aligned software development roles, preferably within a trading or investment environment.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python-capable of writing clean, performant, production-quality code.
  • Experience building systems for front-office or risk-aligned teams; exposure to equities, derivatives, macro, or cross-asset workflows is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets; multi-asset familiarity is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work independently within a trading desk, managing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills-able to interface effectively with PMs, traders, researchers, and business leads.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Passion for building technology that delivers measurable business value.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and cloud-native tools.
  • Proven ability to deliver both tactical and strategic solutions under evolving business needs.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; able to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer
As an employer, we believe every individual brings with them unique diversity of thought and perspectives to meaningfully enrich perspectives of Jain Global teams to drive competitive performance. We believe an inclusive environment can yield exceptional contributions.
