Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Manager
Salary Status: DOE
FLSA: Exempt
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Fontana, CA
Reports to: TBD

Job Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving the company-wide quality
system that focuses on customer satisfaction, defect prevention, improved defect detection, and
continuous improvement utilizing Six Sigma and LEAN techniques. This is a โ€œhands-onโ€
position requiring 50%+ of the work requirements being executed in the manufacturing
departments.

Essential Responsibilities:
โ€ข Acts as the Management Representative and champions SQF certification audits, training,
and maintenance within the Plant.
โ€ข Manages the Material Review Board, internal/external audits, CAPA, document control, and
record review.
โ€ข Oversees and manages a staff of Quality Supervisor and Technicians, Specialists and Document Control Specialist.
โ€ข Leads Continuous Improvement of processes integral to product quality and scrap.
โ€ข Improves quality assurance systems company-wide to achieve zero defects through hands on training, strong work ethic, and leadership by example.
โ€ข Identifies and resolves systemic quality problems through a reduction in variation in
processes and components (i.e., SPC, SQC, Pareto charts, GEMBA walks, etc.)
โ€ข Maintains and enhances quality performance metrics.
โ€ข Participates and leads Quality Forum meetings with other facility plant managers and
quality managers.
โ€ข Improves profitability through reduced internal scrap and customer returns
โ€ข Significant interaction with key customers and prospects to improve quality and win new
business.
โ€ข Effectively works with Engineering Managers and Engineers to ensure PQ runs are
successful and uses early production containment to provide feedback to the Engineering
team(s).
โ€ข Preform Food Safety/Food Defense duties.
โ€ข Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
โ€ข A minimum of 10 yearsโ€™ experience supervising/managing a Quality Assurance Department
preferred. Must also be able to deal effectively and professionally with team members
โ€ข Experience with team-based troubleshooting of plant processes such as blow molding and
injection molding, preferred. For example; Kaizen, process mapping, 5-Why, Fishbone amp;
8D.
โ€ข Strong statistical background (including the use of Excel, Minitab, etc.), SPC/SQC and
various quality based statistical tools
โ€ข Able to effectively lead a cross-function/departmental internal team
โ€ข Ability to train and coach others in the field of expertise and quality systems
โ€ข Excellent external/internal customer and presentation skills to all levels of customerโ€™s
organizations
โ€ข Strong multiple project management skills
โ€ข Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by high growth.
โ€ข Open to 20% travel to support other facilities.

Education and/or Experience:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s Degree (preferably in a technical discipline) or equivalent related work
experience required
โ€ข Minimum of 10 yearsโ€™ quality assurance or quality engineering supervisory experience
preferred.
โ€ข Plastic injection molding experience desirable, preferably in a multi-plant environment
โ€ข ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Quality Manager and/or Six Sigma
green/black belt certification is desirable
โ€ข Excellent negotiation, presentation, meeting facilitation, and organizational skills
โ€ข Strong customer relationship building skills
โ€ข Strong โ€œhands-onโ€ analytical problem-solving abilities
โ€ข Excellent written and oral communication skills
