Job description

Why join Giga
  • The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
  • The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
  • The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
  • The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.

What You'll Do
As Giga's onsite QA/QC Manager, you will own the quality assurance and quality control program for our data center construction projects from foundation to final turnover. You are the last line of defense - and the first line of standards - ensuring that everything we build meets or exceeds design specifications, code requirements, and client expectations. You won't be reviewing quality from a desk. You'll be on the floor, in the ceiling, and in the field, verifying that the work we ship is work we're proud of. You'll develop the quality plan, manage inspection and test plans (ITPs), coordinate third-party inspections, and drive accountability across subcontractors and trade partners. At Giga, quality isn't a checklist - it's a culture, and you'll be the one building it.
Where You'll Work
This is an on-site position that requires long term travel and/ or short term relocation. This person should be comfortable with 3-6 month periods of being at a location before moving to the next.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage the site-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program for data center construction projects.
  • Create and execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) across all trades including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, life safety, and plumbing.
  • Conduct ongoing field inspections to verify that construction work complies with drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes.
  • Review and approve subcontractor quality plans, test plans, method statements, and material submittals prior to construction activities.
  • Manage the non-conformance report (NCR) process: identify deficiencies, issue NCRs, track corrective actions, and verify resolution before work proceeds.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections, special inspections, and testing (concrete, soils, structural steel, electrical, commissioning-related).
  • Maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation including inspection records, test reports, material certifications, and as-built markups.
  • Participate in design review and pre-construction meetings to identify constructability issues and quality risk areas before they reach the field.
  • Support the commissioning and turnover process by ensuring quality documentation packages are complete and accurate.
  • Report QA/QC metrics and program status to the Project Director on a regular cadence.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a QA/QC role on commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects spanning disciplines.
  • Direct experience developing and executing ITPs and managing the NCR/deficiency tracking process on active construction sites.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes (IBC, NEC, ASHRAE, and related standards).
  • Experience coordinating third-party and special inspections in compliance with AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and organizing quality documentation packages for project turnover and closeout.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and communicate technical deficiencies clearly to subcontractors and project leadership.
  • Excellent written communication skills for producing NCRs, inspection reports, and quality status summaries.
Bonus Points
  • Prior QA/QC experience on data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical facility construction.
  • Familiarity with commissioning protocols (Cx) and functional performance testing for critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with Procore or equivalent construction management platforms for quality tracking.
  • ICC, CWI, or other relevant trade-specific inspection certifications.
  • Background working across multiple simultaneous construction sites or programs.
Benefits
  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity (options) in a rapidly growing startup
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Parental leave
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Commuter benefits
  • Monthly team on-sites where all offices come in-person to collaborate
