Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a permanent presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth. We are currently seeking a Program Manager – Deputy LTVS Program Manager to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment. As a Deputy LTVS Program Manager, you will contribute to the most exciting chapter of human space exploration. You will execute the program vision to develop, build, and deliver a Lunar Terrain Vehicle to the surface of the Moon by 2029, capable of carrying NASA astronauts and payloads, and establishing infrastructure on the lunar surface.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Program Manager in the orchestration of multiple projects key to the critical path of the program
  • Manage program milestone reviews by establishing review success criteria, planning peer reviews, managing stakeholder feedback, and tracking progress 
  • Lead evaluation and maintenance of program schedule, budget, technical goals, and milestone readiness in collaboration with Integrated Product Team Leads and LTVS Chief Engineer 
  • Track key performance indicators across the program 
  • Interface with NASA to communicate program status and ensure program deliverables meet customer needs
  • Support team scaling and organization structure development 
  • Improve program efficiency through refining execution processes and effectively prioritizing program-level tasking and objectives in response to new information 
  • Keep human safety at the forefront of all program activities
  • Coordinate internal project activities and facilitate communication between project teams and supporting departments 
  • Lead internal meetings to align priorities, surface risks, and troubleshoot blockers
  • Ensure documentation, reporting, and data are accurate and accessible to internal stakeholders 
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards


Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field
  • 15+ years of project management or coordination experience in a technical or engineering environment, including management of scope, schedule, and budget  
  • Experience with Class A spaceflight missions, human spaceflight, or human-rated vehicle development 
  • Strong leadership history
  • Ability to understand customer vision, align priorities with company objectives, and translate this information into clear programmatic goals and objectives. 
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) 
  • Proven ability to work across multiple teams and balance competing priorities
  • Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
  • Subcontractor Management experience building a collaborative and innovative environment, establishing priorities, and driving execution within the program team 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PMP or equivalent
  • Experience as a cost account manager
  • Experience applying earned value management
  • Familiarity with principles and execution of Model-Based Systems Engineering
