We are seeking a Hardware Engineering Program Manager to join our Solar & Storage organization to ensure the delivery of complex hardware programs for PV microinverters and ESS battery storage product lines. This role requires strong technical and project management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to drive results. The successful candidate brings hands-on project management experience and a passion for clean energy technology.
This role is 5 days a week on-site in Reno, NV.
Major Responsibilities
  • Coordinate across hardware engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to keep programs on schedule.
  • Build working relationships with team members across functions and help facilitate communication between groups.
  • Develop project plans, track progress against milestones, and flag risks or delays early.
  • Work cross-functionally to mitigate risks as they are identified
  • Prepare and distribute regular status updates and program reports to stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain project documentation, schedules, and action item logs with accuracy and consistency.
  • Help identify technical and schedule risks associated with hardware development programs.
  • Work closely with product management to understand requirements and ensure hardware work remains aligned to product goals.
  • Support quality and compliance activities to help ensure hardware deliverables meet relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support hardware integration and production readiness milestones.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 or more years of experience in program management supporting hardware product development.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency with JIRA or similar project tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with solar (PV), energy storage (ESS), or other energy technology products.
  • Exposure to firmware development practices and working alongside firmware teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., UL, NEC, IEEE).
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
