Quality Manager / IATF 16949 Management Representative

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager / IATF 16949 Management Representative to lead our Quality Management System (QMS) and continuous improvement efforts. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 requirements, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards while driving a culture of quality throughout the organization.

The Quality Manager serves as the organization's designated IATF 16949 Management Representative and works closely with customers, suppliers, leadership, and production teams to maintain and improve quality performance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated IATF 16949 Management Representative.
  • Maintain, improve, and ensure compliance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Lead internal and external quality audits, including IATF 16949 certification audits and customer audits.
  • Manage customer complaints, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor and report quality performance metrics, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee document control, quality procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Lead Management Review meetings and support organizational quality objectives.
  • Coordinate APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and other Core Tools activities.
  • Work with suppliers to address quality concerns and improve supplier performance.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to management and associates on quality-related topics.
  • Participate in customer visits, quality reviews, and problem-solving activities.
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes from a quality perspective.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Experience serving as a Management Representative or similar quality leadership role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans).
  • Experience leading internal audits and managing corrective action systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IATF 16949 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers and certification bodies.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
