Job description

We're looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who thrives on the shop floor, enjoys solving manufacturing problems, and knows how to turn data into action.

This is not a desk-only quality role. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to identify issues, drive root cause corrective actions, improve yields, reduce scrap, and support the manufacture and repair of critical aerospace components. If you're the type of engineer who sees a problem, works with the team to fix it, and moves on to the next challenge, we'd like to hear from you.

Work That Matters

At Chromalloy Carson City, your work directly supports aviation safety and reliability. Our teams manufacture and repair critical turbine engine components used throughout the global aerospace industry. Every improvement you make has a direct impact on quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do
  • Lead root cause investigations using 8D, RCCA, SPC, and other problem-solving methodologies
  • Partner with production teams to identify, contain, and resolve quality issues
  • Analyze process and inspection data to improve quality, yield, and operational performance
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Support MRB activities and nonconformance investigations
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Drive scrap reduction, rework reduction, and First Pass Yield improvements
  • Support internal and external audits, quality system compliance, and certification requirements
  • Work with suppliers and customers to resolve quality-related concerns
  • Develop quality metrics, reports, and statistical analyses to support business objectives
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related field)
  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D, and problem-solving methodologies
  • Experience using SPC and statistical tools to drive process improvement
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
  • Experience working directly with production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience with AS9100, FAA, Part 145, Part 21, or other regulated quality systems
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience with yield improvement, scrap reduction, and process optimization projects
  • Supplier Quality and MRB experience
  • Familiarity with machining, EDM, NDT, inspection processes, or turbine engine components
  • Experience with Minitab, QDAS, and statistical analysis tools
Why Join Chromalloy?

You'll work on complex aerospace components, tackle new challenges every day, and have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on quality, production performance, and customer satisfaction. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real manufacturing problems and driving continuous improvement.
