Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA
In collaboration with the manager/director of Performance Improvement, the coordinator is responsible for assisting in the coordination, integration, and implementation of the organization wide performance improvement activities.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • To ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Activities include but are not limited to chart reviews, data abstraction for CMS Core Measures and other quality outcomes studies, and staff education regarding core measures and updates regarding new and enhance indicators.
  • Monitor and analyze performance data from patient care metrics, incident reports, satisfaction surveys, and operational indicators to identify trends and improvement areas
  • Facilitate quality improvement projects using PDSA, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies in collaboration with leaders and clinical teams to create action plans
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with standards from The Joint Commission, CMS, and state agencies, preparing documentation for audits and accreditation surveys
  • Promote patient safety by tracking events and near misses with the Patient Safety Officer and recommending process changes to reduce risks
  • Educate and train staff on quality improvement processes, documentation requirements, compliance standards, and best practices
  • Coordinate quality and safety committees by preparing agendas, tracking follow-up actions, and reporting performance metrics to leadership

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field preferred.
  2. State RN licensure or Certification in a healthcare field preferred.
  3. Excellent computer skills are required including proficiency in (MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  4. Experience in reviewing charts for care issues.
  5. Detail oriented organizational skills.
  6. Must be able to handle multiple cases, directions and be able to follow-through.
  7. Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  8. Experience with Medical Staff communication a must.
  9. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with exceptional professional work ethics.
  10. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, database and typing.
