Job description

The Quality Manager oversees the quality department in its entirety. The Quality Manager leads all customer compliance and product quality requirement activities; is responsible for maintaining the company's AS9100 Quality Management System; and directs all quality activities related to processes, procedures and policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:The Quality Manager oversees the quality department in its entirety. The Quality Manager leads all customer compliance and product quality requirement activities; is responsible for maintaining the company's AS9100 Quality Management System; and directs all quality activities related to processes, procedures and policies.
  • Plans, coordinates, and directs a department responsible for quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop improvements in throughput, productivity, quality, client relationships, and customer service.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution and reporting of quality improvement projects with a focus on overall process improvements, scrap reduction and supplier quality improvement.
  • Directly supervises quality team members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, development, and evaluation of the department.
  • Responsible for evaluation and resolution of customer/supplier quality issues.
  • Develop and implement the Quality Management System to support the growth of the Company.
  • Manage annual AS9100 certification surveillance or recertification audits.
  • Continuous reporting of the status of the Quality System to proactively address the organizations Quality needs.
  • Prepare and support customer QMS audits and Quality readiness reviews.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for internal and customer non-conformances.
  • Analyze quality performance utilizing using statistical and analytical tools and methods data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
  • Assist disposition process by conducting failure analysis and suggest corrective actions as Material Review Board member.
  • Lead the AS9102 First Article Inspection planning process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science in a business-related field.
  • 7-10 years' experience in quality assurance and 1-2 years management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and training in ISO/AS.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Read/Interpret requirements from Engineering drawings, Engineering change notices or established operating procedures
  • Minimum of 5 years in Aerospace Manufacturing environment preferred.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:
  • AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality/Business Management System.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • Experience with PC skills - Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the suppliers.
  • Able to build morale and group commitments to achieve goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed; Inspires and motivates others to perform well.
