Quality Performance Coach information

What does a quality performance coach do?

A Quality Performance Coach works with individuals or teams to improve their work processes, efficiency, and overall performance. They assess current practices, provide feedback, and develop strategies to enhance quality standards within an organization. Their goal is to help employees meet or exceed performance metrics and ensure that best practices are consistently followed. Quality Performance Coaches often use data analysis, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to drive continuous improvement.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a quality performance coach?

To thrive as a Quality Performance Coach, you need expertise in quality assurance processes, data analysis, and performance management, typically backed by relevant experience or a degree in business, management, or a related field. Familiarity with quality management systems (like Six Sigma or Lean), performance tracking software, and sometimes certifications such as CQIA or Lean Six Sigma are highly beneficial. Strong communication, coaching ability, and problem-solving skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills are crucial for effectively driving continuous improvement, supporting team development, and ensuring organizational quality standards are consistently met.

How does a quality performance coach typically collaborate with team members to drive continuous improvement?

A Quality Performance Coach works closely with various teams, including operations, training, and leadership, to identify performance gaps and implement targeted coaching initiatives. They often facilitate feedback sessions, lead workshops, and provide one-on-one guidance to help team members enhance their skills and achieve quality benchmarks. Effective collaboration involves building trust, maintaining open communication, and aligning coaching strategies with organizational goals. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, Quality Performance Coaches help teams adapt to changing standards and consistently deliver high-quality results.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate, coachable fitness & sports performance coach to join our staff in a part time capacity. This position covers coaching across all MB programs — Athletic and Adult Training — and works as a team in delivering the MB experience to every member.

This is a hands on coaching role. You will be on the floor every session, building relationships, delivering quality training, and representing the MB brand with every person who walks through the door.

What You'll Do

  • Coach members across all MB programs — kids, teens, and adults
  • Deliver sports-based training sessions with energy, intention, and consistency
  • Build genuine relationships with members and their families
  • Meet members where they are — adapting coaching style to age, experience, and ability
  • Assist with program design and session planning
  • Represent MB's values — Coaching, Community, and Consistency — in everything you do

What We're Looking For

  • 2-5 years of coaching or training experience
  • Certified Personal Trainer or Strength and Conditioning certification (CSCS, NASM, NSCA, CPT or equivalent)
  • Strong people skills — you connect with a 12 year old athlete and a 50 year old adult equally
  • Coachable — you're open to learning and doing things the MB way
  • Reliable and consistent — you show up, you're prepared, and you deliver the same quality every session
  • Background or interest in hockey or ice sports is a plus but not required

This Is the Right Fit If You:

  • Want to be part of something bigger than just training sessions
  • Believe relationships are the foundation of great coaching
  • Are serious about your craft and want to keep growing
  • Love the energy of a sports-based training environment
