Quality Supervisor 1(Automotive)

Shift: 1st Shift

Pay: $20.00-$24.00/hr

Position Summary

MS Companies is seeking a motivated and experienced Quality Supervisor 1 to lead and support inspection teams within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising daily operations, ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining strong customer relationships, and leveraging MS Companiesโ€™ technology-driven systems to drive performance and efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of quality inspectors to ensure performance, productivity, and quality standards are consistently met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment to support safety and efficiency
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and client-specific requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain work instructions and quality processes
  • Monitor production processes, control points, equipment, and personnel to ensure quality standards are achieved
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, drive improvements, and support cost reduction initiatives
  • Communicate expectations clearly; monitor performance and provide ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Address employee relations matters including attendance, performance, and behavioral concerns in partnership with HR
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to support operational success and career growth
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and service excellence
  • Coordinate staffing and scheduling to meet production demands and customer requirements
  • Accurately enter and manage time, production data, and other required inputs within company systems


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to visually identify defects in color, shape, size, or texture of parts
  • Must be able to hear and differentiate sounds in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the workday for extended periods on concrete floors (up to 10-12 hours)
  • Must be able to move within buildings and operational areas, including ascending and descending stairs
  • Must be able to reach, turn, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, and maintain balance to prevent falls
  • Must be able to reach overhead and perform repetitive movements
  • Must be able to lift, carry, transfer, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to grasp with both hands and perform fine motor tasks requiring coordination and repetitive motion
  • Good hand-eye coordination for inspection and material handling
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures


Qualifications

  • 2โ€“3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with quality systems, reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency with digital systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar platforms) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead teams effectively
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
  • Flexibility to work any shift based on business needs
