Quality Engineer
Job Summary: Plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Functions:
  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing the quality activities as directed by the Quality Manager for the ISO/TS Quality Management System.
  • Responsible for responding to quality issues within the manufacturing plant.
  • Perform ISO/TS internal auditing as required by the Quality Manager.
  • Responsible for continued compliance with documentation in the ISO/TS quality system.
  • Responsible for training inspectors to the quality standards.
  • Responsible for leading the implementation of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Act as a member of the Environmental Quality Council (EQC) as it pertains to the Quality functions
Project Support:
  • Set up the MRB meeting for review of all discrepant material which include Material Review Board Activities and Feasibility Review to meet Customer Specific Requirements as needed.
  • Work with partnering with other manufacturing and engineering departments to implement quality improvement projects.
  • Responsible for the generating reports as required.
  • Provide quality data as required by the QA Manager.
  • Maintain daily data and action reports based upon SPC Datalzer Software.
  • Assist with quality projects and assignments as required by the QA Manager.
  • Responsible for inventory in the non-conforming warehouse to include RMA's, vendor returns, non-conforming product, etc.
Customer Support:
  • Work with customers on quality related issues and close corrective actions.
  • Work with customers to resolve RMA’s.
  • Assist with customer audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Support:
  • Provide supervisory support for employees who work in the panel testing, incoming and receiving inspection areas.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist quality manager with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure new employees are provided with required training such as reviewing work instructions, quality specs, level II documents and preventative maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working with quality management systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prefer ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and the ISO 14001 systems
  • Knowledge of six sigma, FMEA, process capability, and pareto chart.
  • Experience working with mathematical calculations/statistical analysis.
  • Able to analyze and collect data.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to look at ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Able to work in a team setting.
  • Reliable and dependable.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
