Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Quality Manager to join our team and play an important role in maintaining and continuously improving our Quality Management System.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who understands ISO 9001, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in ensuring that products and processes consistently meet the highest standards. As Assistant Quality Manager, you will help support the overall health and effectiveness of the Quality Management System. You will oversee daily quality-related activities, including validating products against established QA protocols, ensuring procedures are followed, conducting QC testing, and supporting product release activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management System

  • Assist the Quality Manager in developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management System.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of quality policies, procedures, and company protocols.
  • Monitor quality-related activities to ensure compliance with established requirements.
  • Validate products against established quality standards and QA protocols.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvement and quality enhancement.

Quality Control, Testing & Product Release

  • Conduct QC testing and inspections to verify that products meet safety, customer, industry, manufacturing, and ISO requirements.
  • Support and manage product release activities to ensure all requirements have been satisfied.
  • Read, understand, and accurately interpret Specifications, Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Perform inspections using handheld measurement and inspection equipment, including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Microscopes
    • Other applicable inspection equipment

Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in identifying quality issues and determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work with other departments to investigate quality concerns and implement effective solutions.
  • At times, lead or coordinate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Help identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Team Support & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with production, manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Provide support and guidance to QA team members.
  • Communicate quality requirements clearly and effectively throughout the organization.
  • Help foster a positive, accountable, and quality-focused team environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and microscopes.

Additional Experience:

  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Training or Certification.
  • Experience performing internal quality audits.
  • Experience with document control.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Work Instructions and Procedures.
  • Experience with corrective and preventive action systems.
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or production environment.
