Job description

The Laboratory Analyst will carry out analysis according to the section work plan. Follow accredited methods of analysis as detailed in the quality manual. Prioritise analysis according to customer requirements.

Ensure all expectations associated with the submitted samples are met. All duties to be carried out whilst conforming to the laboratory safety plan. Participate in out of hours standby rota.

Ensure that exceedances and unusual results are reported in accordance with company procedures. Document actions taken with flagged results. Where necessary confirmation of the original analysis.

Ensure maintenance records for the methods used are kept up to date. Ensure reagent records detail all changes, fresh stocks etc. Ensure that analytical method is kept up to date with correct analytical practice.

Stock maintenance and ensuring deliveries are dealt with appropriately. Maintenance of local stock control records to ensure the viability of analytical methods. Responding to service requests.

General admin to support the team. Responsible for disposal of waste in line with procedures.
