Position Summary:
  • The Quality Inspector-Packer is responsible for inspecting, packaging, and preparing products for shipment in accordance with customer specifications, quality standards, and company procedures. This position performs mechanical and visual inspections, maintains accurate inspection and production records, and ensures that products are properly identified, documented, packed, and shipped.

Requirements
Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Packing:
  • Inspect and pack parts according to due date priority and follow approved specific packing instructions and supervisor guidance.
  • Interpret sales write-ups and special packaging instructions and accurately maintain charts and inspection recordkeeping.
  • Operate electronic counting scales and use the shop floor production control system to maintain accurate records for inspected and packed work, including pulling certifications and certificates of conformance.
  • Use ERP software to process work orders, maintain accurate inventory and transaction records, generate required documentation, and support production and shipping activities.
  • Use UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipping software to create shipping labels, prepare domestic and international shipment documentation, track shipments, and ensure accurate and timely customer deliveries.

Quality Inspection:
  • Performs company quality control, technical and customer satisfaction activities.
  • Implements and follows inspection programs and instructions related to manufacturing objectives.
  • Operates all gages, software, vision systems and related SPC methodologies.
  • Documents and enforces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the ISO system.

Non-essential Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Supports broader inspection, packing, and shipping-related business objectives as needed.

  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, optical comparators, and visual measuring systems.

Work Environment:
This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that is adjacent to the shop work environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. It's important to maintain a high level of alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment.
