Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector is responsible for discarding or rejecting materials not meeting specifications. You will mark items with details, such as grade or acceptance/rejection status. You will measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications; using measuring instruments: calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
โ€ข Provide technical validation of the manufacturing documentation provided to ensure that it complies with the standard requested by the department.
โ€ข Study time, motion, methods, or speed involved with maintenance, production, or other operational activities established to standard production rates or improvement efficiencies.
โ€ข Read logs, product processing sheets, or specifications to verify records adhere to quality assurance metrics.
โ€ข Verify equipment is operating according to quality assurance standards by observing product performance.
โ€ข Notify the quality manager or other personnel of production issues.
โ€ข Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
โ€ข Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to assess problems.
โ€ข Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects.
โ€ข Identify information by categorizing, estimating, or recognizing changes in circumstances.
โ€ข Evaluating the quality of materials or products.
โ€ข Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
โ€ข Notify others of equipment repairs or maintenance needs.
โ€ข Record operational or production data.
โ€ข Perform with expert knowledge: inspections of processes, procedures, and quality methods.
โ€ข Perform Delta FAI's in compliance with QA ISO9001 procedures.
โ€ข Participate in ongoing training and cross-train incoming Inspectors when needed.
โ€ข Witness test setups ATPs, ATRs, and test data records.
โ€ข Other job duties as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. BA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in quality assurance production environment required.
  • Computer Skills: Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel; proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is also required, including but not limited to Word and PowerPoint. AutoCAD; MathWorks; MATLAB; Database user interface and query software.
