Job description

Description:

Cooperation with all team members and support functions (Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Support, Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resources). Direct guide to a group of technicians performing activities in the same time interval (shift). Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with company and customer quality standards.


Responsibilities

  • Follows escalation process. Ensures that all necessary measures are taken, informs supervision
  • Verify that purges are completed and defective parts are quarantined.
  • Supports the manufacturing area in dimensionally checking and recording results
  • Monitors the operation during the shift and reports the correct data at the end of the shift
  • Checks components for compliance to drawing and visual appearance and process parameters
  • Reviews nonconforming material from suppliers, customer, and internal rejects, reviews this information with the line operators.
  • Follows the quality process and procedures. Constant presence in the quality department
  • Performs audits as required and ensures proper documentation and escalation when necessary
  • Audits parts ready to leave the company to verify they have the correct documentation
  • Cooperates with the area responsible persons, operators, etc. plus support in identifying of best quality practices
  • Maintains daily finished good counts and compares to daily shipping requirements . Adjusts the safe launch teams daily schedule to accommodate shipping requirements.
  • Trains other team members and production operators on quality standards.
  • Works with area supervisors to approve operators to allow parts to be shipped straight to dock bypassing safe launch.
  • Completes and performs other duties/tasks as may be assigned

Academic Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent


Required Skills & Experience

  • Automotive Manufacturing experience preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Quality Control
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Understanding of technical processes and production, good knowledge of instructions for specific work, knowledge of quality instruments
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, such as quality inspection methods, quality control techniques, knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 preferred
  • Able to read and understand drawings preferred
  • Knowledge of product and/or process audits preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team (ability to cooperate with team, ability to contribute on team results)
  • Ability to understand written instructions
