Title: Quality Control Inspector II

About HPF: Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, fatigue rated, close tolerance fasteners using materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, nickel alloy, titanium, waspaloy, A-286, monel and multiphase. Our fasteners have supported mission aircrafts such as; Joint Strike Fighters, F/A 18 Super Hornet, and Falcon 9; just to name a few. We are dedicated to providing a superior product to our customers.

Job purpose: Inspect machined parts or products for defects, damage, wear, and deviations from specifications in Final and In Process Inspection. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Use computer systems to enter and log data. Able to perform inspections independently. May coach and train Level I Inspectors. Act as a QC Liaison, answering source inspection questions on any parts submitted for source.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

ยท Examine materials and final products, calculates tolerances and dimensions using hand tools, verifies conformance to standards, reads work orders, routers and blueprints to determine product specifications as a part of inspecting products and materials in process and in final inspection

ยท Document / record quality inspection information

ยท Evaluate information to determine whether parts and materials conform to regulations and standards

ยท Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives

ยท Analyze data or information

ยท Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships

ยท Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards

Professional Skills:

ยท HS diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of experience/education

ยท 4 or more years of related experience required

ยท Intermediate knowledge of mathematics and applications

ยท Basic AS9100 knowledge

ยท Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. This includes Keyence inspection equipment, optical comparators, digital micrometers and calipers, gage pins, ring gages, dial indicators, concentricity gage, thread segments

ยท Intermediate knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints (including geometric dimension and tolerancing features), drawings, and models as well as advanced knowledge of geometric dimension tolerancing (GD&T) features

Physical Requirements and Working Condition:

ยท Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, and ladders

ยท Must be able to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment (man lifts, ladders, and stand)

ยท Must be able to lift up to 45lbs

ยท Subject to environmental conditions -protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes

ยท Subject to hazards to include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals

ยท Subject to loud constant noise

ยท Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
