My client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project Engineer with a strong background in fastener manufacturing to lead process improvements, equipment projects, and production optimization initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Client Details My client is a global manufacturer of high-quality metal components, serving a variety of industries including Automotive & Aerospace. Description Lead manufacturing projects from concept through implementation, ensuring objectives, timelines, and budgets are achieved. Develop and improve manufacturing processes for fastener production operations. Support cold heading, thread rolling, trimming, and secondary manufacturing processes through process optimization and problem-solving. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime. Evaluate process flow, equipment utilization, and plant layouts to identify opportunities for improved throughput, safety, and cost reduction. Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, validations, and startup activities. Review and evaluate proposals from equipment suppliers and tooling vendors. Develop process documentation, PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and project schedules. Conduct line validations, capability studies, production trials, and process qualification activities. Monitor production performance and ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, maintenance, and sales teams to successfully execute projects and support customer needs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, productivity improvements, quality enhancements, and cost savings. Profile Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience. Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering or project engineering experience within fastener manufacturing. Experience supporting fastener production processes including cold heading, thread rolling, forming, stamping, or related operations. Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and lead process improvement initiatives. Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Experience developing PFMEAs, Control Plans, and validation documentation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of a manufacturing organization. Experience managing capital equipment projects, facility expansions, or production improvement initiatives. Background in lean manufacturing, cellular manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with equipment buyoffs, installations, commissioning, and production ramp-up activities. Knowledge of fastener quality standards, tooling, dies, punches, and manufacturing controls. Customer-facing engineering experience supporting new product launches and production requirements.
