Job Description

This position is responsible for building quality into the production process and ensuring the delivery of quality products to our customers in the most safe and efficient manner.  This role will partner closely with plant and department leaders to analyze production trends, propose solutions to improve processes in addition to contributing to the implementation of improvement projects. This role will also lead preventive actions, coordinate effective corrective actions, and implement measures that adhere to all industry and governmental standards. This position will take responsibility for assuring customer satisfaction by ensuring timely responses to our Sexton Business Unit customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot production processes to support improvement to existing manufacturing tooling, processes, methods, and procedures.
  • Lead efforts to reduce and control manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, and customer complaints) by assisting the team on identifying the primary root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Management regarding quality monitoring, corrective action processes, quality improvement actions, and containment actions.
  • Provide timely superior response, communication, and closure to customers in relation to quality concerns and issues.
  • Provide periodic reports of quality issues, project updates and other valuable KPI’s to the leadership team.
  • Lead quality audit processes in addition to Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) efforts.
  • Perform project-based work, as assigned, or directed, on improving quality and reducing scrap or defects.
  • Update procedures, PFMEA, and control plans as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering plus 3 – 5 years of quality engineer experience required
  • Quality Engineer Certification preferred
  • Prior experience in aerosol manufacturing environment highly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading improvement projects by providing creative approaches to problem solving
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams and influencing others without authority
  • High level of comfort when working in ambiguous situations, with the ability to gather pieces of information and summarize them into meaningful statements and/or instructions
  • Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks in a very flexible environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Some travel may be required
