Job description

We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our Agawam, MA facility. In this role you will be responsible for supporting plant managment in driving quality activities within the production facility. Through a hands on approach to problem-solving, you will ensure customers are fully satisfied with the company’s service. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and maintain the quality system within the service plant.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive corrective and preventive actions using KPI inputs with a focus on effective root-cause analysis.
  • Support quality planning process.
  • Provide product quality analysis via various testing methodologies.
  • Support Material Review and disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Manage Quality System documentation
  • Daily, Weekly and Yearly gauge verification/calibration
  • Perform Products/Process/Internal audits
  • Perform MSA
  • Reporting of quality system status/key process indicators.
  • Train production personnel in quality system requirements, processes, and procedures as required.

Your Profile:

  • Minimum 4 year degree in Quality, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Advanced education desirable. Experience substitutes
  • Proven experience with Quality Core Tools
  • 2+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing and/or production environment preferred
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and executing ISO 9001:2015
  • Ability to effectively use problem-solving tools such as Pareto Charts, SPC methodologies, cause and effect diagrams as well as 8D or similar problem solving experience
  • Action oriented individual who drives for results in managing QMS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong, self-motivated independent thinker
  • Proficient using MS Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) is required

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $90,000 - 105,000 per hour. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
