Join our team as a Level 3 Quality Engineering Contractor, ensuring the excellence of highly complex electro-optical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies for spaceflight and airborne systems. Based in Rochester, NY, you will be at the forefront of on-site quality assurance, collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing major program outcomes. This role offers a flexible 9/80 shift schedule and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace projects, fostering both technical and leadership growth.
[Responsibilities]
- Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for advanced hardware and integrated systems.
- Lead on-site monitoring of build, installation, and testing processes for software/hardware assemblies.
- Implement and optimize audit plans to ensure compliance with internal, program, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze process and product data to proactively identify and resolve quality issues.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and lead Material Review Board and Failure Review Board meetings.
- Execute First Article Inspection activities per AS9102, including documentation, planning, and cross-team coordination.
- Interface with customer quality representatives and suppliers to resolve build/test issues and support process improvements.
- Oversee supplier quality management, conduct supplier assessments, and travel as needed for hardware inspections.
- Participate in design reviews, requirements validation, and risk analysis to ensure mission-ready hardware.
- Deliver on financial and business objectives by forecasting quality metrics and driving strategic improvements.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in quality assurance for complex electro-optical, electronic, or mechanical systems.
- Strong initiative, proactive mindset, and collaborative leadership skills.
- Expertise in root cause analysis, corrective action, and quality data analysis.
- Experience with First Article Inspection (AS9102) and supplier quality management.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and influence across engineering, management, customers, and suppliers.

- Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools.
- Familiarity with risk analysis for space systems hardware.
