Our NPD Quality Engineering team is integral to the success of defining, developing and bringing our innovative new products to market.

Primary Responsibilities
Quality Engineer 2 - NPD Fabrication is responsible for supporting and continually improving the Sub-Zero/Wolf Quality System by facilitating continuous product and process improvements so we can exceed the expectations of those we service by providing high quality, innovative, value added, luxury appliance products and services.
Quality Systems:
  • Problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
  • Development, maintenance, and review of key performance indicators.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new equipment, designs or processes that improve product quality, consistency and performance.
  • Review and update changes to current Quality Systems to support NPD projects.
  • Examine impact of NPD on current Systems and drive changes in equipment, tools, or processes.

Quality Planning:
  • Establish the quality system requirements for new or revised products.
  • Pre-production design review and key control characteristics (KCC) identification and documentation.
  • Establish the quality system requirements for new or revised manufacturing processes.
  • Plan for and execute Qualifications of new or revised manufacturing equipment, PPAPs, Capability Studies as required for support of NPD projects.
  • Establish and execute a measurement plan for geometric data collection
  • Assist with completing QE NPD deliverables related to the fabrication process by using Advanced Quality Planning; such as lead Process FMEAs, Fabrication Control Plans, and Gage/Metrology needs. Participate in Design FMEAs, Design for Manufacturing efforts, and Solid Model/Print Review,
  • Plan, coordinate measurement requirements, collect and provide statistical analysis of data for NPD builds.
  • Work with Fabrication Business Unit Quality Engineer to deliver Product Control Plan and Audits for implementation as product transitions into production.

Required Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in a STEM field
  • Advanced and thorough working knowledge of quality engineering tools and techniques for systems improvement and problem solving
  • 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or design engineering function with progressing responsibilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of and experience applying statistical methodologies in a manufacturing environment
  • Project management with budgeting responsibilities a plus
  • Ability to use advanced dimensional measurement & data collection tools and systems
  • Ability to read and knowledge of how to inspect GD&T - Flatness, Parallelism, Perpendicularity, Surface Profile, True Position
  • Ability to use Solidworks to interrogate prints and assemblies as well as ability to design parts and assemblies used to inspect/check parts.
  • American Society for Quality - Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or other certification
