Professional Search Group OC wants you to join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Injection Mold Shop Lead for the 3rd Shift! This energetic leadership role is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented professional eager to oversee and optimize our plastics injection molding operations. As the key leader on the night shift, you will drive production efficiency, ensure top-tier quality, and uphold safety standards across all facets of the injection molding process. Duties

  • Lead and coordinate all activities within the injection mold shop during the 3rd shift, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely
  • Supervise machine operation including plastics injection molding presses, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and robotic systems to maintain optimal performance
  • Oversee materials handling, fabrication, and assembly processes, ensuring proper use of hand tools, measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques for quality control
  • Conduct quality inspections using dimensional measurements and measurement (quality control) tools to verify product specifications meet strict standards
  • Troubleshoot engineering issues related to industrial equipment, robotic systems, and manufacturing processes to minimize downtime
  • Enforce safety protocols rigorously across all operations; conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety adherence among team members
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and implementing process improvements in plastics production and extrusion

Experience

  • Proven experience in plastics injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, or related plastics manufacturing environments
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating CNC machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and robotic systems
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, perform dimensional measurements, and utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality inspection
  • Warehouse experience including materials handling and forklift operation preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce waste
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is highly desirable
