Job description

Anchor Talent is recruiting a Quality Engineer for a global manufacturer who will focus on supplier quality and management.

As the Quality Engineer you will own a defined portfolio of suppliers and help bring more structure and data-driven decision-making to how supplier performance is tracked and acted on. This is a fast-moving manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, brings a positive and practical approach to problem-solving, and enjoys building order out of a dynamic floor operation.

What You'll Do

  • Own an established portfolio of fabrication suppliers, with closer attention on the handful that need it most
  • Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) planning, determining when a full or partial FAI is appropriate
  • Travel periodically to supplier sites for audits and inspections (Canada and Mexico)
  • Validate incoming parts and initial production runs against engineering drawings and specifications
  • Drive corrective action with suppliers on non-conformances and track effectiveness over time
  • Act as the connective link between suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Build supplier performance data to help inform sourcing decisions over time

What We're Looking For

  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
  • Exposure to a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or Power BI
