Audio Visual Quality Control Technician

Rentex sets itself apart from the competition by providing superior equipment that is well cared for and works every time. Our reputation is attached to every piece of gear that leaves our warehouse. Consequently, the Quality Control (QC) department is critical to the growth of the business and to customer satisfaction.

The Quality Control Technician works primarily in the Quality Control department of a branch warehouse but may be temporarily reassigned to work in any other warehouse department. These short reassignments are dictated by the flow of work and the demands of the business. Employees in this role will help out in all disciplines (audio, video, projection, etc.) of the QC department and must have a general proficiency with basic AV equipment and computers.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures on returning equipment.
  • Ensure all cases and equipment are presentable and in ideal working condition.
  • Diagnose, log, and repair damaged items.
  • Manage firmware versions for applicable devices.
  • Organize and store all tested equipment.
  • Correctly process missing or damaged equipment.
  • Be able to handle hard deadlines and plan workflow depending on client needs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer support for clients .
  • Follow direction of the department leader and managers.
  • Assist other departments when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED
  • Experience working with professional audio visual equipment and computer equipment.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of inventory software for forecasting of workload.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not supervise other employees.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a warehouse environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate with coworkers. The employee must occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are subject to change and may rotate. Needs of the business may dictate long hours and weekend work during high-demand periods.
